«Ад каннибалов» (итал. Cannibal Holocaustbal) — фильм ужасов итальянского режиссёра Руджеро Деодато, снятый в псевдодокументальной манере по сценарию Джанфранко Клеричи, рассказывающий о судьбе маленькой съёмочной группы, бесследно исчезнувшей в джунглях Амазонки. Считается одним из первых примеров фильмов жанра найденной плёнки.

Francesca Ciardi (born July 26, 1954) is an Italian film actress.

She was one of four actors whom the Italian police believed had been murdered in the making of the 1980 horror film Cannibal Holocaust. So realistic was the film that shortly after it was released its director Ruggero Deodato was arrested for murder. The actors had signed contracts to stay out of the media for a year in order to fuel rumours that the film was a snuff movie. The court was only convinced that they were alive when the contracts were cancelled and the actors appeared on a television show as proof.[1][2] In 2014 after over twenty years out of the film business, Ciardi returned to film in Spencer Hawken's zero budget movie Death Walks.

Cresciuta a Roma, ha studiato recitazione all'Actor's Studio di New York[1] e lì fu notata dal regista Ruggero Deodato, che le affidò il ruolo di Shanda Tomaso nel suo controverso Cannibal Holocaust.

In seguito la Ciardi interpretò una parte in Eroina, quindi prese parte ad altri quattro film, prima di uscire dalle scene.

A oltre vent'anni dalla sua ultima apparizione torna nel 2014 a recitare nel film horror a basso budget Death Walks.

Actress Francesca Ciardi also objected to the film's sexual content and did not want to bare her breasts during the sex scene between her and Carl Yorke. When she refused to comply with Deodato's direction, he dragged her off the set and screamed at her in Italian. She had earlier suggested that she and Yorke actually have sex in the jungle before filming in order to relieve the tension of the upcoming scene. When Yorke declined, she grew upset with him, alienating him for the rest of the shoot.[10]
