Сюжет

Сюжет разворачивается вокруг главной героини, молодой девушки (Кэтрин Харрисон), которая оказывается свидетельницей войны между мужчинами и женщинами. Укрываясь от войны в старинном особняке, она сталкивается со странными людьми и попадает в кажущиеся нереальными, сюрреалистические ситуации.

По словам режиссёра Луи Маля, картину не следует считать фильмом-сновидением, а скорее «фильмом, находящимся за пределами реальности»[1]. В то же время в «Чёрной луне» содержится вполне реалистический подтекст, связанный с активизацией феминистского движения в семидесятых годах. В фильме, по признанию самого режиссёра, есть очевидная связь с «Алисой в стране чудес» Льюиса Кэрролла.

Plot
The world is embroiled in a war between men and women, and, to escape it, Lily (Cathryn Harrison) flees to a country estate on which a number of surreal and unusual events take place. Naked children round up pigs and sheep. On the estate are three adults: a man, Brother Lily (Joe Dallesandro), his sister, Sister Lily (Alexandra Stewart), and The Old Lady (Therese Giehse). Brother Lily tends to the upkeep of the grounds and does not speak but somehow communicates through touch. Sister Lily (Alexandra Stewart) helps on the estate with the rounding up of sheep and feeding the children. The Old Lady is a demanding bedridden woman who communicates with a large rat, and operates a ham radio next to her bed. When she is hungry, she seeks milk and is breastfed by Sister Lily, and later by Lily.

Production
The film was shot in Malle's own 200-year-old manor house and its surrounding 225-acre (0.91 km2) estate in the lush, wild Dordogne valley in Quercy, near Cahors, called "Le Coual," or "The Crow's Call."[1] The house and grounds were actually the beginning inspiration for the film, according to Malle in an interview in Cinefantastiqu: "It began with the fact that I wanted to shoot the film in my own house. Black Moon certainly comes very much from the place where I live, the kind of countryside around the house. There's something very ancient, maybe archaic, about it, also something...hostile."[1] Malle also said that the film was influenced by his admiration for Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.

Cathryn Mary Lee Harrison (born 25 May 1959) is an English actress. She is the daughter of the actor and singer Noel Harrison and Sara Lee Eberts and the granddaughter of actor Sir Rex Harrison. Her siblings, Simon and Harriet Harrison, are also actors. Cathryn Harrison has half-siblings from her father's second marriage, Will and Chloe, and an older half-sister, Zoe, from her mother's first marriage to Carleton John Richard Tufnell. In May 1996 she married Paul Laing. Her uncle is playwright and activist Carey Harrison.

Harrison began her career with Robert Altman's film Images in 1972. Her later performances include the role of Lily in Black Moon (1975),
