Nassar was born on August 16, 1963, in Farmington Hills, Michigan, to Fred Nassar (1925–2000) and Mary Nassar (1924–2019),[8] who were both of Lebanese descent.[9] He began working as a student athletic trainer for the women's gymnastics team at North Farmington High School at age 15 in 1978, on the recommendation of his older brother Mike who was an athletic trainer at the school.
