Только сегодня (смайл) заметил, что у некоторых англичан есть имя и фамилия, а у других два (и больше) имени.

Что, скорее всего, раньше было связано с типом (видом, подвидом, разновидностью) религии. А сейчас, видимо, просто передается по наследству.
