"In 1962, Dunaway started a romance with stand-up comedian Lenny Bruce that lasted for a year.[119] She was engaged to photographer Jerry Schatzberg from 1967 to 1968.[120][121] The two remained friends and Dunaway later starred in his first film as a director, Puzzle of a Downfall Child (1970).
