On August 3, 2023, Upper Arlington police received numerous calls about a driver who almost hit another vehicle head-on. Witnesses followed the vehicle to a park, where police officers approached the vehicle. The 38-year-old woman behind the wheel was heavily intoxicated. She had an open container of alcohol in the car and could not answer basic questions. She refused to perform standardized field sobriety tests. She was arrested for DUI and was transported to the police station. Unfortunately, she also refused to submit to an evidential breath test, so her breath alcohol concentration remains unknown. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.

Just for perspective. It states she was fined $325 for a second DUI. I just paid $260 for a speeding ticket 15 miles over the limit. DUI penalties are shockingly inadequate and need to be fixed yesterday.

It amazes me how a person can be too drunk to stand, walk, or talk, but when you ask if they've been drinking, they are coherent enough to deny it.
